What Does ACC Cover?
ACC contributes approximately $30 per visit towards treatment for an accepted injury claim. You pay the remainder, which is the ACC rate shown above.
You do not need a GP referral to lodge an ACC claim. If your injury is new, the claim is completed at your first appointment. If you already have an open claim, bring the claim number.
ACC covers injury. It does not cover problems that have developed gradually without an identifiable injury — those are charged at the private rate.
Can I Claim on Private Health Insurance?
Usually, but it depends on your policy. Payment is taken at the time of the appointment and you claim reimbursement from your insurer afterwards. It is worth contacting them before your visit to confirm what they require — some ask for a receipt with specific details, others want a referral on file.
Do I Pay for the First Appointment if You Cannot Help Me?
Yes — the initial consultation fee covers the assessment, and that assessment has value whether or not treatment follows. If the examination shows your problem sits outside what chiropractic care can address, you will be told that directly and referred appropriately, with a letter to your GP where useful. Knowing what the problem is not is often the most useful outcome of a first appointment.
How Many Appointments Will I Need?
That depends on the problem, and you should be sceptical of anyone who answers it before examining you. This practice does not use pre-paid packages or fixed treatment plans. You are seen as often as the condition warrants and no more — if you are not improving, the answer is to reconsider the diagnosis, not to book more appointments.
How Do I Book?
Appointments are booked online. No referral is required.
